Trump and Xi will sit down on Saturday night in Argentina. The world is holding its breath.
Late next week OPEC will meet. Oil at US$60 or US$30?
A snapshot of global economic growth or otherwise will be provided by Monday’s run of manufacturing PMIs from across the world, followed by services PMIs on Wednesday, including Caixin’s take on China. Beijing releases its official numbers today.
It’s jobs week in the US. Data ahead of Friday’s non-farm payrolls include private sector jobs, factory orders, trade, consumer sentiment and the Fed Beige Book.
It’s a big week for Australia, culminating in the September GDP result on Wednesday. Quarterly numbers for company profits and inventories, the current account and terms of trade will be released prior. The RBA meets on Tuesday.
Monthly data next week include ANZ job ads, building approvals, retail sales, trade and the PMIs.
As we enter the final month of the year, the AGM season is now all but over but for a few stragglers. There are just a handful next week. Investa Office ((IOF)) and Inghams Group ((ING)) hold extraordinary general meetings.
Metcash ((MTS)) will report earnings, Telstra ((TLS)) will provide a 5G update and Origin Energy ((ORG)) hosts an investor day.
But critical to the performance of global stock markets next week will be what transpires in Buenos Aires. Santa will remain glued.
