Morgan Stanley

26/08/2026

1

Overweight

$5.15

58.46%

Propel Funeral Partners' FY26 result was broadly in line with Morgan Stanley's expectations.

Revenue was -0.7% below consensus and EBITDA essentially in line, while operating NPAT beat by 2%. Funeral volumes rose 1.1% y/y to 22,900, although organic volumes declined -2% and price per funeral growth moderated.

The analyst observes a slow start to FY27, with July revenue flat y/y, although up 3% excluding FX, as a benign winter flu season contributed to a material contraction in industry death volumes.

Average revenue per funeral increased more than 3%, suggesting volumes rather than pricing are the near-term headwind, with the broker expecting modest downward revisions to consensus EPS.

Four acquisitions adding ten locations were completed during FY26, while cash conversion remained strong at 100.7%.

Overweight rating and $5.15 target price. Industry view: In-line.

Jarden

27/08/2026

2

Overweight

$4.00

23.08%

Jarden maintains its Overweight rating for Propel Funeral Partners with its target price decreased to $4.00 from $4.25 following second-half FY26 net profit after tax exceeding consensus by 5%, though attention centred on first-half FY27 year-to-date revenue tracking -7% below consensus.

Operational performance highlights market-related weakness likely reflecting increased competition from low-priced competitors, which is expected to cause near-term share pressure.

Near-term earnings per share forecasts are cut by -3% to -5%.

The analyst highlights that Propel Funeral Partners Limited remains a defensive business capable of driving earnings per share growth above 9% through mergers and acquisitions, supported by $252m of property book value.
