Island Pharmaceuticals has committed to a second manufacturing campaign of GMP-grade Galidesivir with PI Health Sciences to increase available inventory. This will improve the company's ability to rapidly respond to the active Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak.

Research as a Service (RaaS) assesses that the second manufacturing campaign is important as the company will have drug volumes available to deploy in Uganda during 2026.

The analyst points out that governments and biodefence agencies require immediate access to drugs for responding to outbreaks, and having inventory available should strengthen the company's position in potential procurement, preparedness and stockpiling discussions.
