UBS

Neutral

$1.50

4.53%

On further inspection, UBS retains a Neutral rating and $1.50 with largely unchanged earnings forecasts.

The broker likes the stronger 2H26 margins and improvement in sales over the period from modernised ranges. Sales for the first eight weeks rose 0.4% due to cycling of clearance sales and gross margins were ahead of last year.

Management's ongoing focus on product and pricing with better customer engagement is to boost productivity against a backdrop of competition and higher interest rates.

First take: UBS retains Neutral and a $1.50 target following a result broadly in line with guidance and forecasts.

Adairs and Mocka delivered resilient sales, but Focus remains troubled, with sales down -27.6% over the opening eight weeks of FY27 because of inventory and product-availability problems.

FY27 capex guidance of up to $25m is also materially above forecasts.

FORECAST
UBS forecasts a full year FY27 dividend of 13.00 cents and EPS of 19.00 cents.
UBS forecasts a full year FY28 dividend of 19.00 cents and EPS of 27.00 cents.

Overweight

$1.90

32.40%

Jarden maintains its Overweight recommendation for Adairs with an unchanged target price of $1.90 following an FY26 financial result featuring second-half net profit after tax approximately 4% ahead of consensus estimates.

Sales and EBIT landed at the upper end of guidance, while gross margin reached 52.9% and cash conversion hit approximately 119%.

The company declared a final dividend of 6.0c per share, beating consensus expectations.

Trading updates for the first eight weeks of FY27 indicate that group sales declined -4.5% year-on-year, heavily impacted by the Focus division, whereas adjusted sales ex-Focus rose 3.3% year-on-year.

The broker suggests further clarity on the Focus turnaround will remain key for market sentiment.
