Macquarie

28/08/2026

1

Outperform

$1.80

18.81%

Boss Energy's FY26 profit was a -75% miss to consensus. FY27 is to be a transition year, Macquarie notes. FY27 production guidance is soft and cost guidance is above the broker.

A New Feasibility Study (NFS) provides a credible pathway towards production above Macquarie. A wide-spaced wellfield design appears likely to be quite effective in reducing costs given -50% less infrastructure and 28% higher grades.

The large pullback on the release of the NFS was disappointing; and it appeared to Macquarie that the market may have focused too heavily on FY27 guidance. Honeymoon value will be better demonstrated when fully ramped at 1.9Mlb/yr.

Target rises to $1.80 from $1.75, Outperform retained.

FORECAST
Macquarie forecasts a full year FY27 dividend of 0.00 cents and EPS of 11.40 cents.
Macquarie forecasts a full year FY28 dividend of 0.00 cents and EPS of 21.80 cents.

Shaw and Partners

Buy

$2.77

82.84%

Shaw and Partners maintains a Buy rating for Boss Energy with its target price decreased to $2.77 from $3.04 following an FY26 result featuring an NPAT of $3m alongside the release of a revised feasibility study for the Honeymoon project.

The new mine plan utilises a wide-spaced well-field design, extending the production ramp-up period to 2030 and causing a 35% reduction to the resource base to 20.8Mlb.

Life of mine cash costs are guided to approximately US$35/lb with production expected to peak at 1.9Mlb in FY30.

FY27 to FY29 EBITDA forecasts are downgraded by -20%-40% to align with the revised guidance.

The broker retains a positive outlook on valuation grounds and bullish uranium price expectations, while noting the new well-field design remains untested.

FORECAST
Shaw and Partners forecasts a full year FY27 dividend of 0.00 cents and EPS of 15.80 cents.
Shaw and Partners forecasts a full year FY28 dividend of 12.60 cents and EPS of 25.10 cents.
