Morgan Stanley

Downgrade to Equal-weight from Overweight

$4.80

3.90%

Temple & Webster's FY26 sales came in just below the lower end of guidance, while EBITDA of $21.9m reached the upper end, but Morgan Stanley is more concerned by the -13% decline in FY27 year-to-date sales.

The broker believes FY27 earnings now require a larger-than-usual 2H skew and sees increased risk of a strategic recalibration under the new CEO, particularly after the previous circa $40m EBITDA target was widened to $33-40m.

FY27 EBITDA forecasts are reduced to the lower end of guidance. FY27-FY28 EPS forecasts are cut by -32%-41%, with renewed sales growth, operating leverage and market share gains required to rebuild confidence.

The broker downgrades to Equal-weight from Overweight and cuts its target to $4.80 from $8.00. Industry view: In-Line.

FORECAST
Morgan Stanley forecasts a full year FY27 dividend of 0.00 cents and EPS of 13.00 cents.
Morgan Stanley forecasts a full year FY28 dividend of 0.00 cents and EPS of 16.00 cents.

Jarden

Neutral

$5.20

12.55%

Jarden maintains its Neutral recommendation for Temple & Webster with its target price reduced to $5.20 from $6.60 following a second-half FY26 EBIT result $1m ahead of consensus despite a -2% revenue miss and -$2m of additional capitalised costs.

Early first-half FY27 year-to-date sales declined -13% year-on-year, implying a -5% miss to consensus expectations. Margin rebalancing efforts led to a better-than-feared FY27 EBITDA target of $33m to $40m.

The broker suggests the company has factored in enough buffer to hit the midpoint even if revenue drops -5%-10%.

The analyst notes two key concerns regarding the slowdown, warning a permanent margin uplift would indicate a highly competitive market, whereas a temporary uplift would lead to future margin pressure upon re-acceleration.
