According to the latest (July) Investor Sentiment Survey by FNArena and the Australian Investors' Association, short term bullish sentiment towards Australian equities has now fallen to the lowest point for the year. The Australian share market, however, just posted its best monthly performance for 2013 in July. So what's happening? FNArena Editor Rudi Filapek-Vandyck discussed causes and explanations with host Peter Switzer on Switzer TV on Thursday.
Also, points out the FNArena Editor, given AUDUSD has now fallen below 90c, many companies on the ASX stand to benefit from a supportive currency effect, not the least many smaller mining stocks. The steady fall in investor sentiment suggests this is not genuinely on investors' mind just yet.
