Morning sports fans,
Just a quick note today as I have to take my son to the doctors as he perforated his eardrum surfing on Saturday…
Anyway City to Surf done for another year..93 Minutes so 15 off last years time..pretty happy with that especially given the ideal preparation of my wife’s 50th birthday the night before and drinking my body weight in red wine!!
Still somewhat predictably the US markets bounced on Friday as they like nothing better than some drone action in the Middle East…also Russian troops pulling back from the brink helped things along too…
Expect a good bounce early before nerves set in…lots of results this week including CBA so plenty to think about…expect the REA style reaction will prevail..everyone is so bullish they need to see some good results plus a optimistic commentary to keep the momentum up…
Listened to Joe Hockey on the radio this morning..not sure he knows what is going on in the real world…strange to think that nearly 3 three months after the budget was announced still most of it has and never will get passed…so budget emergency..really?
Anyway don’t get all bullish just on the back of one days worth of bounce…as we head into the end of Summer for the Northern Hemisphere boys risk and volatility will increase…and volatility mean opportunities….thats a really good thing…anyway off to see the doctor with my son,looking forward to testing the current state of the Medicare health system
And a quickie…
Last year, I replaced all the windows in my house with those expensive, double-pane, energy-efficient kind.
Today, I got a call from the contractor who installed them.
He complained that the work had been completed a year ago and I still hadn’t paid for them. Helloooo…?
Just because I’m blonde doesn’t mean that I am automatically stupid.
So, I told him just what his fast-talking sales guy told me last year… that these windows would pay for themselves in a year. Hellooooo?
It’s been a year, so they’re paid for, I told him.
There was only silence at the other end of the line, so I finally hung up.
He never called back.
I bet he felt like an idiot…??
