Warning, cliff ahead. Estimated time of arrival, one month. Travellers may experience nausea during the journey.

Japan will do its own version of a Chinese monthly “data dump” today and India will report its September quarter GDP, while tomorrow Beijing will release China's official manufacturing PMI for November. Australia, the eurozone, UK and US will release the same on Monday when China will report its services PMI, and then everyone else will release their services PMIs on Wednesday.

Next will be a very busy week, economically, for Australia. And Parliament House will be blissfully shut down for Christmas.

We begin with the manufacturing PMI as well as the trade balance, retail sales and ANZ job ads before Tuesday brings the third quarter current account and the RBA rate decision. The September quarter GDP result follows on Wednesday along with the services PMI before the unemployment numbers are released on Thursday. On Friday, China does its data dump.

The US will see construction spending, vehicle sales, factory orders along with its own PMIs and unemployment data. Enough there to keep Wall Street distracted as it swoons atop the Cliff.

On Thursday the eurozone will revise its September quarter GDP number and the ECB will hold a monetary policy meeting. Unless Spain shocks us all with a bail-out request in between, not much is expected to change.

On the local stock front, the AGM season pretty much comes to a close in November but there are always a few tardy souls, with next week's Myer ((MYR)) meeting a highlight.
