As markets brace for the impact of Hurricane Irma over the weekend, next week in the US is thin on the ground data-wise until later in the week, when inflation, retail sales and consumer sentiment numbers are due along with the Empire State activity index.

Friday is the quadruple witching expiry of September quarter equity derivatives.

China will release August industrial production, retail sales and fixed asset investment numbers on Thursday.

The Bank of England holds a policy meeting on Thursday.

In Australia, we’ll see the NAB business and Westpac consumer confidence surveys next week along with the August jobs numbers.

On the local stock front, Friday sees the announced ASX index rebalances applied while the number of stocks going ex-dividend ramps up further next week.

Boral ((BLD)) hosts and investor day on Tuesday and Myer ((MYR)) releases its earnings result on Thursday.
