The average uranium spot price so far this year? This must be the easiest question around these days in global finance. It’s US$72/lb and it has been again confirmed by both consultancy firms who take the effort of putting a weekly figure to the U3O8 question on behalf of US utilities and global investors.

Ux Consulting reconfirmed this week the US$72/lb it had reported on the first day of the new calendar year. In between, TradeTech, the other consultant, reported the same figure.

Just as a reminder: on UX Consulting figures the U3O8 spot price entered calendar 2006 at US$45/lb.
