FNArena has added another video to its Investors Education section on the website. In this broadcast, ATW's Jerry Simmons zooms in on some recurring patterns for equities. For example, had you noticed markets tend to put in lows for the week on either Monday or Tuesday? In addition, it appears that equities often open a new month on a positive note. Simmons considers equities are in a bull market, so the opposite holds true in bear markets.
He also advises it is probably best if investors consider both EUR/USD and the USD Index in tandem, as both function as opposites of each other. Right now, Simmons' analysis shows EUR/USD is probably poised for a Big Breakout, but into what direction will it be?
Note that a breakout for the USD Index above 75 would be considered a significant event.
AUD/USD is trading inside 1.08 and 1.04 and that's how Simmons believes traders should treat future opportunities: bearish if 1.04 is broken to the downside and bullish when 1.08 gives in.
Copper is still looking towards a well-defined resistance zone at US$4.48-4.55 A break below 4.20 would be a bearish signal.
