The world is changing, every day. Little by little. Bit by bit. Guests at BoardRoomRadio's Friday Afternoon Roundtable are talking "high multiples", "low valuations" and "consensus forecasts" these days. Judging by last week's broadcast, they're even doing it when I am not sitting around the table. My favourite expression for the past six months, "single digit growth for industrials", is casually mentioned more than just a few times.
On Friday I was called in at the very last moment as one scheduled guest couldn't make it and busy traffic meant I only joined the conversation a few minutes into the broadcast. We discussed troubles in North Africa and the Middle East, interest rates, the reporting season, valuations for stocks, in particular high multiple stocks, and the all too familiar "single digit growth for industrials".
Individual companies mentioned include Coca-Cola Amatil ((CCL)), Wotif.com ((WTF)), SEEK ((SEK)), Crown ((CWN)), Tatts ((TTS)), Caltex ((CTX)) and OneSteel ((OST)).
Subscribers can access the broadcast via the (more) Sources of Wisdom section on the FNArena website, or through the www.brr.com.au website.
