Consolidation, Then Breakout?

FYI | Jun 24 2011

FNArena has added another video to its Investors Education section on the website. This latest ATW broadcast was compiled ahead of the FOMC meeting but still offers technical insights into support zones, consolidation patterns and potential break-outs.

Amongst the highlights in the broadcast are:

– EUR/USD's key resistance is situated in the 1.427-1.433 zone

– The situation for crude oil in particular looks very interesting. The DPTL zone is at 93.50-94.50. The next DPIT support zone is at 87.50-88.00 while resistance seems to be at 96.00-96.50.

– The sideways pattern for AUD/USD is a typical set-up for a break-out, probably to the upside which then raises the question whether we are going to see a classic blow off top?

– Interesting times for gold as well, with strategic support zlocated at 1510-1520, so any confirmed breakout below 1510 should send this market significantly lower. Lower level DPTL at 1500-1505. Key area to watch would also be a breakout above 1560
