What Happened To Rudi On Thursday?

FYI | Mar 01 2010

By Rudi Filapek-Vandyck, Editor FNArena

We are making some changes to the FNArena service and one of the most visible changes we already have implemented is the cessation of my weekly editorial, Rudi On Thursday.

This may seem odd as we know many among you, loyal readers and subscribers at FNArena, have been looking forward for years to my weekly analyses and insights. Up until the final Rudi On Thursday, published two Wednesdays ago, my editorial has remained one of the most popular features on our service.

The most popular one, however, remains FNArena's Weekly Insights, mostly written and sent out in the form of an email on Monday (paying subs) and again on Thursday (non-paying members). This weekly feature is kept intact and paying subscribers will receive the next update later today.

Rudi On Thursday has ceased as we're trying to convert to a more flexible formula, one that will allow me to write Rudi's View whenever I think I should. So now I no longer have to hold my powder dry because it happens to be Tuesday or Friday.

No doubt, paying subscribers will be happy with this decision – they get more Rudi for the same buck. But non-paying readers are now missing out on the free repeat publication of my editorial in the Monday morning email.

In all honesty, we haven't figured out how exactly we are going to compensate for this, but we have our thinking hats on, and we will come up with something. Hopefully soon.

In the meantime, there's nothing stopping any of the current non-paying readers to join our database of paid subscribers, and there remains The Weekly Insights.

I hope you all enjoyed reading my weekly editorials -I know many of you did- and it certainly was a great pleasure to be spending so much time in researching, analysing and writing them. Also, because many of you communicated back how much you liked it.

But we're working towards a better service, and Rudi's View, we think, will offer a better service in a different format.

I hope that in a while from now, you'll all agree. At least the initial feedback has been positive.

I am ready for more.

Cheers

Your Editor,

Rudi Filapek-Vandyck
