More than a decade ago, it was 1999 if my memory is correct, I pioneered with live audio-video broadcasts over the internet. The first broadcast that went live in the Netherlands at the time was the general meeting of shareholders from bank ABN Amro.
Fast forward some 12 years and BoardRoomRadio has just finished its very first Friday Afternoon Roundtable live A-V broadcast from Sydney restaurant the Chophouse. "We're pioneers", declared initiator John Murray after the technicians had silensed the last microphone. We had lunch and wine before the event.
Taking part in today's "historical" broadcast were your editor, along with BRR's John Murray, Andrew Main from newspaper The Australian and the ever so popular Michael Heffernan, stockbroker at Melbourne based Austock (over the mobile phone).
Items discussed in today's Roundtable include QBE ((QBE)), Tabcorp ((TAH)), QR National ((QRN)), the coming resporting season and the Australian share market.
