As earnings season slowly trails off next week on Wall Street, the Australian earnings season steps up a gear.

There are too companies reporting to pick highlights. Please refer to the FNArena Calendar.

On the economic front, next week brings the monthly NAB business and Westpac consumer confidence surveys, the June quarter wage price index and the July jobs report. The RBA governor will speak on Friday.

China will provide a monthly data dump of industrial production, retail sales and fixed asset investment numbers on Tuesday.

Releases in the US include industrial production, retail sales, housing sentiment and starts, consumer sentiment and the Empire State activity index.

Note that on the local stock front, Tuesday brings quarterly updates from both ANZ Bank ((ANZ)) and National Bank ((NAB)) while on Wednesday, Commonwealth Bank ((CBA)) goes ex-dividend.

It’s a timely reminder that as earnings season builds, so too will the number of stocks going ex, with a lag.
