After we get past today’s Chinese GDP result, Saturday night brings an extraordinary session of the UK parliament to debate Johnson’s tentative deal with the EU, with the Irish already dismissive.

The world will await any new news on the trade front but it could well be a week devoid of any developments. Wall Street will thus concentrate on a ramp-up of its quarterly earnings season.

US data releases next week include new and existing home sales, house prices, durable goods, consumer sentiment and a flash estimate of October manufacturing PMI.

Australia, Japan and the eurozone will also flash.

The ECB holds a policy meeting on Thursday.

Locally the calendar lacks any major economic releases.

But it will all be happening in the stock market, with the AGM season stepping up a gear and quarterly reports flooding in.

There are too many AGMs and production reports to list but we will note actual earnings numbers will be provided by Australian Pharmaceutical Industries ((API)), UR Westfield ((URW)) and ResMed ((RMD)).
