Buy

$58.00

19.59%

UBS reiterates its Buy rating for News Corp following the media company's FY26 result. Its target lifts to $58 from $56, a 3.6% increase.

Revenue and earnings beat UBS and consensus forecasts by 1% and 3%, respectively, driven by Digital Real Estate and Dow Jones.

Free cash flow increased 43%, supporting completion of around $640m of the existing $1bn buyback, while UBS assumes a further $1bn of repurchases across FY28-FY30.

FY27-FY29 EPS forecasts rise 2%, 2% and 4%, respectively, reflecting higher REA Group ((REA)) volumes and broadly stronger revenue and earnings assumptions.

Recovery in Dow Jones energy contracts, easier Book Publishing comparisons and improving US property activity provide catalysts, while continued weakness in professional information services and a delayed US housing recovery are seen as the primary risks.

FORECAST
UBS forecasts a full year FY27 dividend of 29.24 cents and EPS of 194.47 cents.
UBS forecasts a full year FY28 dividend of 29.24 cents and EPS of 225.18 cents.

Overweight

$47.70

-1.65%

Jarden maintains an Overweight rating for News Corp and increases the target price to $47.70 following a "solid" third quarter result.

Earnings per share forecasts for FY26 and FY27 have been revised upwards by 2.2% and 2.5% respectively as EBITDA grew 18% to US$1,842m.

Strong momentum in Professional Information Services and a beat in Book Publishing offset a -55% fall in News Media EBITDA caused by launch costs for the California Post, the broker notes.

Jarden comments future upside risk exists from unpriced AI content licensing deals with OpenAI and Meta while uncertainty regarding Australian residential listing volumes presents a potential downside risk.

Adjusted net profit of US$118m was 6% ahead of estimates with dividends maintained at US$0.20 across the forecast period.

FORECAST
Jarden forecasts a full year FY27 dividend of 29.24 cents and EPS of 185.55 cents.
