US equities are unmistakably in a bull market, re-affirmed FNArena Editor Rudi Filapek-Vandyck last week Thursday, while adding: dynamics in Australia are not as favourable. The best investors in Australia can hope for is that US equities continue their upswing and Australia is dragged along for the ride, in his view.

Within this context, the good news is recent research by Morgan Stanley suggests a firm upswing is building for US corporate profits, despite rising interest rates, while US equities are seen trading below intrinsic value. In Australia, the big challenge consists of rising profits and no wage growth, with the gap between the two widening.
