And here we go. After a quiet start to the local results season, next week we go into overdrive. There are too many reporting companies to highlight.

It is also a busy week for global economic data.

Locally we’ll see the minutes of the August RBA meeting, the June quarter wage price index, which will be critical to RBA policy, and July jobs numbers, also critical.

China reports July industrial production, retail sales and fixed asset investment.

Japan reports June quarter GDP.

The RBNZ holds a policy meeting.

The UK, EU and Japan report July inflation numbers.

The US reports July retail sales, and the minutes of the July Fed meeting are due. The July PPI is out tonight.

Aside from an avalanche of earnings reports, the ex-dividend season also quietly begins to hot up. Next week features Commonwealth Bank ((CBA)), Suncorp Group ((SUN)), QBE Insurance ((QBE)) and ResMed ((RMD)).
